Dr. Etienne Mauffret, Prof. & Head of the Master of Science Data Engineering, Aivancity
Dr. Etienne Mauffret holds a Doctorate in Computer Science from Université Savoie-Mont Blanc. He has served as a temporary teacher-researcher at ENS Lyon and has conducted research at Pierre et Marie Curie University, Polytech' Annecy Chambery, and ENS de Lyon.

Introduction to AI and Its Applications
Begin your journey into Artificial Intelligence with a comprehensive introduction to AI, supported by real-world examples. Module 2
Machine Learning and Practical Applications
Continue your AI journey by diving deeper into data collection and analysis with the second part of your hands-on project. Explore the fundamentals of Machine Learning, including key concepts, real-world examples, and how it operates, with a focus on image detection. Participate in a practical session where you'll build a simple Machine Learning model using a no-code framework, applying your knowledge to the radiology of animals for an engaging and interactive experience.
Module 3
Deep Learning Fundamentals and Advanced Machine Learning
Expand your understanding of AI with an introduction to Deep Learning, where you'll explore core concepts, examples, and the mechanics of how it functions, with a focus on image detection. Continue building on your previous work in the second part of the practical session, refining your simple Machine Learning model. Begin a project focused on Machine Learning and Neural Networks, where you'll work with your chosen dataset, test existing Machine Learning or Deep Learning models, and extract visualizations of your results for a comprehensive learning experience.
Module 4
Advanced Neural Networks and AI Ethics
Continue your project on Machine Learning and Neural Networks, advancing into the second phase where you'll further analyze your chosen dataset. Engage in an open discussion on the ethics of AI, addressing dilemmas such as biased datasets, health-related concerns, and the learning of sensitive data. Conclude with a reflective project on the ethical implications of your chosen dataset, encouraging critical thinking about the broader societal impact of AI technology.
Module 5
Generative AI and Project Showcase
Explore the world of Generative AI with a focus on Large Language Models (LLM) and examples that highlight the mechanisms behind this cutting-edge technology. Work on a hands-on project where you'll use Generative AI to produce outputs from your chosen dataset, experimenting with the types of results that can be generated. Conclude the module with project presentations, showcasing your work to peers and instructors, followed by an Awards Ceremony to celebrate achievements and innovation throughout the course.
