HGSE Global Education Leadership Collective (HGSE-GELC) is a formally recognised student organization at the Harvard Graduate School of Education that brings together master's and doctoral students who apply their academic learning to global and cross-cultural leadership.

The Global Youth Leadership Bootcamp is guided by mentors from the HGSE Global Education Leadership Collective (HGSE-GELC) which is a formally recognised student organization at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
HGSE-GELC brings together master’s and doctoral students committed to developing future changemakers. As a leadership-focused community, it prepares emerging leaders to address global challenges, collaborate across cultures, and drive impact in education and beyond.
At the bootcamp, participants learn from mentors who blend academic excellence with real-world leadership experience. Their supportive, collaborative approach encourages questions, idea-sharing, and confidence-building. Rather than simply teaching, mentors work alongside students to foster curiosity, critical thinking, and leadership through interactive discussions and hands-on guidance.

About the Bootcamp
The Global Youth Leadership Bootcamp is a 4-day leadership immersion experience designed for high school students in Grades 8–12.
Under the guidance of mentors from the HGSE Global Education Leadership Collective (HGSE-GELC), the Bootcamp offers an intensive offline learning experience focused on developing the skills, mindset, and confidence required to navigate real-world leadership challenges.
Focused on soft-skill mastery, experiential learning, and meaningful networking opportunities, the Bootcamp brings together motivated young learners in an environment that encourages growth, collaboration, critical thinking, and confidence.
Through interactive workshops, case studies, leadership simulations, team activities, and reflective exercises, students are challenged to think differently, engage with diverse perspectives, and practise leadership in action.

Personal Leadership Action Plan
Leadership development doesn’t end when the Bootcamp does.
As the culmination of their learning journey, students will develop a Personal Leadership Action Plan that brings together their reflections, strengths, goals, and aspirations.
Through this process, students will reflect on their leadership journey, identify areas for growth, define their leadership goals, and develop actionable next steps for putting their learning into practice.
The Personal Leadership Action Plan helps students move from reflection to intention to action; giving them a clearer understanding of the leader they want to become and how they can continue developing beyond the Bootcamp.
